Positioned above the base LXi trim, the new Victoris VXi balances affordability with a richer feature set in the compact SUV segment.
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has officially entered India’s compact SUV arena, and the VXi variant is expected to be a popular choice for buyers who want more than the bare-bones LXi but still at a competitive price point. Here’s a breakdown of what the Victoris VXi brings to the table.
Exterior Design
The Victoris VXi builds on the base model’s styling with subtle but noticeable upgrades. Body-coloured ORVMs and door handles replace the plain black plastics of the LXi, while connected LED tail lamps, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and silver skid plates add a more premium touch. However, the SUV continues with 17-inch steel wheels with covers, leaving alloy options to higher trims.
Cabin and Features
Step inside, and the VXi greets passengers with a more refined cabin. The interior gets a dual-tone black-and-off-white finish, chrome door handles, vanity mirrors, and footwell lighting, all of which elevate the ambience.
On the tech front, buyers get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car features, and a voice assistant. Strong-hybrid variants also offer a 10.25-inch digital driver display and multiple drive modes.
Convenience features include automatic climate control, keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear USB-C ports, and a split-folding rear bench for added practicality.
Safety Package
Safety remains a highlight, with the Victoris VXi equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and a rear-view camera. The entire Victoris line-up proudly carries a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, further boosting Maruti’s credibility in a safety-conscious market.
Powertrain Options
The Victoris VXi comes with three engine choices:
- 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol
- 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol
- CNG option
Power outputs range from 88 PS (CNG) to 116 PS (strong-hybrid combined output). Automatic variants get paddle shifters, while the strong-hybrid is equipped with an acoustic vehicle alert system for pedestrian safety.
Final Word
With its upgraded styling, enhanced cabin features, strong safety rating, and multiple engine choices, the Maruti Victoris VXi looks well-positioned to attract buyers who want a balance of value and modern comforts without moving to higher trims.
