Suzuki-e-Access

Suzuki is all set to make its entry into India’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler market with its first-ever electric scooter, the e-Access. While the Japanese two-wheeler giant showcased the e-Access earlier this year, the official price announcement is expected next month, just ahead of the festive season. This strategic timing could help Suzuki tap into the rising demand for EVs in India.

Suzuki’s First Electric Scooter for India

The Suzuki e-Access was unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, and since then, anticipation has been building around its launch. With the e-Access, Suzuki is targeting not only the growing urban commuter base but also looking to capture a share of the lucrative EV market, currently dominated by startups and legacy brands like TVS, Ola Electric, Bajaj, and Ather.

Battery, Charging & Performance

At the heart of the e-Access is a 3.07 kWh LFP battery pack. Charging times are competitive for its segment:

0–80% in 4 hours 30 minutes with a standard charger.

0–80% in just 1 hour 12 minutes using a fast charger.

Full charge in 2 hours 12 minutes with fast charging.

Paired with the battery is a 4.1 kW electric motor mounted on the swingarm, producing 15 Nm of torque. On a single charge, the scooter promises a range of up to 95 km, while the top speed is rated at 71 kmph—sufficient for city commutes and short highway stretches.

Design and Features

The Suzuki e-Access blends a familiar Access-inspired design with modern EV elements. It features a LED headlamp, LED DRLs, and a fully digital instrument cluster. Buyers will also get to choose from three color options, making it stylish and functional for daily riders.

Market Position & Rivals

The upcoming e-Access will directly challenge established electric scooters like the TVS iQube, Honda Activa Electric, and Ather Rizta, among others. Given Suzuki’s reputation for reliability, strong dealership network, and affordable service, the e-Access could become a strong contender in the budget-friendly EV scooter segment.

Expected Price & Launch Timeline

While Suzuki has not officially revealed the price yet, industry insiders expect it to fall in the ₹1.05–1.15 lakh (ex-showroom) range, putting it in line with rivals. The launch, expected in September 2025, could give Suzuki a major sales push during the festive season.

With its practical range, competitive charging times, and Suzuki’s trusted brand value, the e-Access could be the company’s breakthrough product in India’s EV space.
